Born and raised in Hawaii, Santana comes from a family background in entertainment and business; his father was a manager for one of Hawaii’s hottest night clubs and his mother worked in the food and beverage industry. An entrepreneur from a young age, Santana started his first company after graduating from high school, Creative Art Applications, a custom dye cut decal business. The business was a successful venture, even more impressive in the fact that Santana is a self taught graphic designer.
In 1998, Santana sold his company and moved to Las Vegas in order to challenge himself with other business opportunities. Though he loved living in the mainland, Santana longed for island style entertainment and it was then that he decided to bring what he was missing from Hawaii to Las Vegas.
He found Vizzun Entertainment so that he could share the “aloha spirit” and island culture through music and entertainment. The Hawaiian Bash was the first of many successful concerts that Vizzun Entertainment promoted and produced, followed by the Pure Aloha Festivals, Kapena Jam and Da Kine Reggae Concert. My connection is the music, says Santana.
Working with artists such as Sudden Rush, BET, Fiji, Kapena, Bonafide, Fiji, Augie T, Santana saw an opportunity to further promote the talented artists of the Islands and created a studio and record label.
The concept of sharing the island spirit branched into the Pure Aloha clothing line.
Living in the islands made me who I am today, says Santana, who’s goal is to keep the aloha spirit alive and give the children born in the mainland a chance to connect with their island heritage.
